Singapore Part Time Jobs
Singapore Part Time Jobs documented how not being able to get a part time job led to creating a job portal especially for part-time, contract or temporary jobs in Singapore
Let’s face it, the economy has been bad and projects have been scarce. However, the challenge is not to get worried and overwhelmed. I caught myself whining away when I couldn’t get a part-time job but I really got tired of my rants and complaints. Then I had a Eureka moment and thought “Instead of looking for a part-time job, why don’t I use my skills to create an easy-to-use part time job site for Singaporeans” :)
The goal is to become Singapore’s top part time job site. A lofty one but I know its totally achievable.

Singapore Entertainment Awards 2009 Celebration Party - Photos Galore!
Alvinology said:
I am not going to type too much text as I am very tired… really need to get more rest. Nonetheless, I am anxious to share with everyone the photos I took at the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2009 Celebration Party, so here goes.I was stationed at the artistes’ holding tent just beside the stage - meaning I have excellent access to the red carpet, the stage and even backstage with the celebrities. However, as I have to work also, I can only sneak in a few pictures here and there.
Recommended by Anonymous Coward: "Big event over the weekend at the Marina Bay Floating Platform, attended by over 10,000 people. Singapore seldom host such big Chinese entertainment events and this one was held at the floating platform which previously only hosted the NDP. A behind-the-scene look by someone who was working at the event."

Rising costs strain Singapore's university students
UPI said:
By day, a third-year economics major who wants to be known only as Lynn attends classes at the National University of Singapore, usually clad in a simple getup of jeans and a tank top.But at night, while most other undergraduates are asleep, Lynn trades her casual wear for a wardrobe of resplendent dresses and works as a social escort, a job scorned and labeled distasteful by most. From 8 p.m. to about 4 a.m. she entertains male clients by attending functions with them, indulging them in a drink and chat, or by providing what she called “discreet services.”
“It’s not exactly the most glamorous of jobs,” Lynn said. “I’m keeping it from my parents and most friends. But what to do? I have to eat my meals and pay my bills.”

JBJ is Back in Action!
Alvinology said:
82 -years-old J.B. Jeyaretnam filed an application this morning to register his new political party, The Reform Party. The old warhorse is back in action again!Mr Jeyaretnam has been barred from contesting general elections here since 2001, when he was made a bankrupt for failing to pay damages from defamation suits.
He cleared up his debts on May 10, last year and was discharged as a bankrupt, thus freeing him to contest in the next polls due in 2011.
By then, he will be 85-years-old.

Chinese New Year Garden Party at Istana
Ephraim said:
It was slightly different from last year's. The committee had come up with special queues for those who wanted personalised photo opportunities with the Prime Minister. It was a change from last year where anyone could just go up to him for a photo. Last year, the Prime Minister had given feedback that there were many people stepping on his heels. Some went too close he added.

Zouk 15th anniversary. Crystal Ball
Kagetsuki said:
The queue was long despite being "invitation only" There was a lameass "red carpet" section with huge screens showing footages of screaming fans. All in all, it was lame. However, The decor of the place was damn nice. Chandeliers everywhere, golden picture frames with the pictures of the people featured in the zouk brochure that was sent to us~ They were serving free flow housepours and chocolates, now we're talking. XD

Virtual Insanity: A Spanking Success

The Virtual Insanity Halloween Party 2005 will be forever burned into the minds of those who attended. 74 people turned up dressed in a variety of costumes that ranged from school outfits to wedding gowns to super hero costumes. The drinks flowed freely, the music was excellent thanks to DJ Slapdash and not quite sober pipple were grinding on the dance floor.
Highlights of the evening:
- Watching folk crawl about on the floor in an attempt to finish 4 shot glasses of tequila using only their mouths in a race to the end knowing that terrible punishments awaited the loser.
- Witnessing 2 straight guys frenching. Half the audience retched in homophobic recoil while the other half cheered for team Sodom & Gomorrah.
- Auctioning off sandralicious, brendon, serendipity, kingmeng and naeboo to be publicly spanked for charity. A variety of whips, belts and cat-o-ninetails were employed for this purpose. The bidding was very very fierce!
- Poledancing from a certain lady, her mind totally sloshed.
- A male blogger who turned up dressed as a Convent School girl and went around mooning people. The same dude won second prize for best costume of the night.
- Desmond Soh, who googled for 'Halloween Party', came and won the best costume award for his intricately detailed TIE Fighter costume.
Kudos to the organizing team and all volunteers who helped out to make this event a success. Keep a lookout for more exciting hedonistic events from the Cowboy Bar. If you wish to be part of this community, click here to join.
Please trackback your blog posts about the party here.
Update:
Amount raised for WMD/HOME : $428
Amount raised for Liquidblade : $338

Gay party news from around the world
loupgarou26 said in the LiveJournal community sg_ljers...
SINGAPORE--Singapore's reputation as a gay-friendly metropolis has taken a hit after police banned an alternative festival coinciding with the city-state's 40th independence day celebrations in August. The Nation party, which drew international revelers the previous four years, will instead be held in the Thai resort of Phuket in November after Singapore police ruled such an event would be "contrary to public interest".
