for a long while i have noticed an annoying trend in many sit-down dining establishments. an increasing number of restaurants have a no-water policy: they do not serve free cold water or even tap water to diners. instead, they make us buy their bottled water. i find this highly unacceptable.
serving water is the most basic service that a restaurant can provide. most of the time we are already paying a 10% service charge. even fast-food restaurants with no service charge do not have such a policy!

The main highlight? This was a D Gray Man event. Really. There were a few groups on both days and if you’re using a regular 35mm lens you’re sure to see at least one of them in every frame. It’s just like the Bleach and Naruto effect last year, which appears to be dying down already.

From the humble beginnings at Google Groups (where we eventually got evicted coz we were overloading the server with our traffic) to the ill-fated Yahoo Groups and finally to the present Liquidblade domain, CowBoyBar has certainly come a long way.
Along the way, we made new friends and we lose some along the way too. As the word Bar suggest, it is a place where people come, people stay and people go. What's important is that we all had a good and memorable time (sans a quarrel here and a break up there) while we are making merry in the bar.
Over time, like any old house, clutter starts to accumulate and it has finally gotten to a point where sweeping and mopping the floors no longer works and hence calls for something more drastic like that of a full reset.
And so, here we are - CowBoyBar 2008.
The original Singapore R-rated blogger forum - The CowBoy Bar is now re-opened for membership registration for a limited period only and all threads are now viewable by the public.

Amidst the tight security today, we saw some good cosplay characters at Ngee Ann City’s civic plaza. The event was the semifinals for this year’s Cosfest, and the finals will take place next Sunday at Downtown East. For now, here’s a gallery of today’s event.

- We bitch a lot. A lot.
- We think about you all the time. Yes, girlfriends, friends’ girlfriends, your girl-friends, your girl-friends’ friends.. All of them.
- We actually aren’t that faithful. Each and everyone of us has a secret partner - with the rifle. In fact, the rifle is the wife and you’re just the mistress. Accept it. We don’t want it either. We were forced okay, forced!
- Yes, we do think of you, for the umpteenth time.
- We are tidy and untidy at the same time. If we see our desks/bunks/toilets in a mess, we won’t hesitate to do something about it. However, we might not. But eventually we will, and it won’t be more than a day.
- We aren’t really that garang either. We just think that, since there’s no way we can not do it, we just do it with vigour so it can help us get it over and done with - fast.

Lurtz is the inaugural piece in Sideshow Collectibles’ line of Premium Format Lord of the Rings figures. Captured mid-stride, Lurtz is intricately recreated in 1:4 scale stalking toward his intended prey. The sculpture perfectly conveys the malice and single-minded purpose of Lurtz’ attack on the Fellowship.

For a majority of the guys this was their virgin game, and many of them underestimated the physical aspect of this little “game”. A word of advice to anyone considering trying this game out, be prepared for a major workout. Oh yeah, and make sure you are ready for some major paintball bruising. You might not feel the pain right after the game, but once the adrenaline wears off, the pain will follow right behind.
