Video on : what does Chinese New Year mean to you?

Melvin Ryan Tan said:

It's Chinese New Year again and this year is the year of the pig! So what does Chinese New Year mean to you? Youth.SG wanted to find out so badly that we ambushed ourselves on Orchard Road and asked random strangers about it. We're not satisfied with just interviewing our Chinese friends... We need to know what our friends from the other races feel about the Chinese New Year as well.

Actually, in China, the trend for those working in cities (the richer ones) is to go abroad for holidays during the CNY break instead of going back to their hometown to visit their parents and relatives.

working in the cities is different from those cityfolks living in the cities.. usually they comes from rural area.. i pressume u are talking abt those richer cityfolks which is minority within the vast population of China..

from what i know.. the long holiday that they usually travel abroad is their another "golden week" .. May 1 and Oct 1.. many will flocks to i.e HK etc...

my close frd have a factory in China... during CNY or Spring festival of they officially call.. 99% of his 2000 plus workforce will go back to their hmtown... but the other 2 golden weeks... some will take leave to travel to other big cities and most will voluteer to work OT..
