Late Nite@Esplanade: Newfound Jealousy - Shirlyn Tan

Being the Opening Act for Jason Mraz at the recent Mosaic Music Festival with her band The UnXpected has pushed Shirlyn, who has been in cover bands for over a decade, to create more of her own compositions. Hear her perform a collection of old and new original works, with a wide array of influences from Chris Cornell to Thom Yorke.

From soft rock to a little pop jazz... this concert is Shirlyn's first featuring all her original works. Come experience a different side of Shirlyn, and enjoy a night of intimate acoustic music.

The helmswoman of Singapore's best kept secret band The UnXpected is going to have her first solo concert later this month at the Esplanade.

Concert Date: 28 July 2006
Concert Venus: Esplanade Recital Studio
Tickets priced at SGD25 (check website for early-bird specials)

I am not against UnXpected's playing style. I think they are a talented band but too obnoxious for their own good (actually, it's only Shirlyn in this case). And it ain't nice talking bad about other bands that play in under the same establishment.

Of course its not good talking bad about other bands. That I agree.
I have heard Shirlyn on a number of times make remarks about songs they don't cover but done by another band. She may have say it jokingly or perhaps sarcastically when replying to the request. However if that is equal to "talking bad about other bands" or making "snide" remarks, I think that is subjective and open to interpretation.

Definitley not in the same genre as you, when using words like "obnoxious" or "swell headed" that is definitley obviously talking bad about somebody/something. No need interpretation.
