PRC guy adopts rescued dog and posts him for SALE

avalon said:

Recently, we rescued 2 factory puppies from my neighbourhood and after taking care of them, we went about finding new loving homes for the pups...But something horrible happened. We found on 88db.com that the same boy-pup, Dane, was being posted for SALE... he even claims he paid $4k for the dog. This is NOT TRUE. He paid an adoption fee of $350...I made a mystery shopper's call this morning..It is the SAME GUY. He spoke with the same funny PRC accent and had the same voice.

It is obvious that the dog rescuers have no experience in handling dog adoption. Just wondering how in the world can they allow the undergraduate to adopt the dog in the first place. Even though it was claimed that due diligence was made..simple rules such as the following must be considered.
a) where does the person stay..if its a flat..dont think its suitable as the puppy belongs to a big breed. Is he staying alone...who's going to take care of the dog when he's out the whole day in school.
b) The undergraduate is merely a foreign student and alone and also a chinese national. One wonders how is he going to take care of the dog..much less himself since I presume he is here in Singapore studying alone.
c) Does he have the means to take care of the dog..considering his lifestyle..etc.
d) should verify his particulars with his IC to ensure that the information he provided is accurate and that he can be contacted so that regular visits can be made to ensure that the dog is well taken care of.
All these and many other "sensible" factors must be considered before one release the dog for adoption. Enthusiasm alone cannot be the single factor for releasing the dog as some people do have ulterior motive like this case shows.
The PRC student, given his situation, should not have qualify to adopt the dog in the first place.
Perhaps, all animal rescuers should study and adopt the strict conditions imposed by SPCA as a guide in their review of how to assess a potential adopter rather than quickly releasing the poor animals. What started out as the intention to do good may turn out to be otherwise for the poor animal.

Trackback from Ubi Kuching Project:

Zanthe, who also lost a rescued dog - Xena, miniature bull terrier - through Jeff, together with her friends from a dog shelter, spoke to Jeff today. ...

Trackback from worldsuponwords:

Jeff's mother claims that Jeff is psychologically unwell. This could explain why he impersonates a well-educated and financially able man - to be able to adopt a dog, and to then assume another persona to that of a con-man....

RE: Integrity of NAFA student JEFF HO @ AU BO JIN, FIN G0148369U

I write with disgust regarding one of NAFA's students Jeff Au Bo Jin @ Jeff Ho written about in abovementioned news headlines.

This student of NAFA, a PRC national who is here in Singapore to study at your distinguished institution, has undesirably tarnished the reputation of your school. In these news articles, this youth is allegedly known to serially adopt pet dogs and then re-sell them for huge profits, mistreating them in the process.

Not only has he carried out clandestine income-generating deeds such as this, it has also come to attention that he mistreats the animals in his care. In the news, the dog he adopted was underfed. His family has also abandoned one of his adopted dogs in Tuas, tied to a lamp post in the rain outside a factory at night. There has already been a police report made as well as reports to AVA on unlicensed pet sale and cruelty to animals charges.

While this information may require evidence and proof, I believe it is timely that NAFA as an esteemed education institution ought to make a stand that (we) do not condone such behaviour before it spirals out of hand.

We the public would like to know NAFA's stand on this issue.

hey did you really send this out? I like to support this action.

why are you doing this elaine? revealing the culprit's personal details? Even people's criminal records are sensitive and kept private. Warning people about the crime is good enough in my opinion. This PRC might be mentally unstable. You do understand this don't you? afterall from reading your blog, you had been through mental instability and psychiatric treatments...

it may not be right to post his particulars online but what this guy did is despicable and need to be punished. Can anyone tell me what is the status on the police reports? or to AVA (which is pretty much hopeless)? we need to get together and do something. write a petition or such for actions to be taken else nothing will be done. Cham Tao Soon should fire this guy and kick him out of Singapore for his INTEGRITY ISSUES.

Yes Ric, we should sign a petition about his integrity issues!

It's time now to publish the photo of the other PRC sh*t - the dog groomer called Sun Hu who was jailed yesterday for hitting the dog he groomed.

It's out in the papers today (sat) - apparently, he hit the dog so hard that the dog's left eye bulged out of his socket. When I read such things it makes me so angry that I want to lay in wait for this sh*t to come out of jail and bash him with a baseball bat.

And why isn't there a photo of this piece of trash? The New Paper interviewed his employers, the pet shop, yet there isn't any photos of him? Is that deliberate, New Paper? To protect the piece of trash? Anyone who knows , please post more info.

The worst part of it all, is that he was given only a 2-week jail sentence, when the maximum for cruelty to animals is a year's jail and a $10,000 fine. He shuold have been fined $10,000 as well because that would definitely hit the sh*t tiong harder than a jail term.

What everyone would like to know now is WILL THE SH*T BE DEPORTED ONCE HE IS OUT OF JAIL? WHAT KIND OF JUSTICE IS IT, IF HE IS ALLOWED TO BE HERE. COME ON, PEOPLE OF SG, DEMAND THAT JUSTICE BE SERVED!

At leaste he didn't eat the dog.. (j/k)

In recent times the PRC guys were doing the great job ..recently tney have also saved two street dogs from teh dowbn hill and rescued them to saftey ..but i think the best thing they have done is help to find the dogs a perfect shelter and sweet homes.
