Haven't you heard? Apparently Singaporeans are a complacent lot that can cause alleged terrorists under maximum security to escape.

One word: Disgraceful.

Why have loyalty to a government that has no loyalty to you?

Tastes differ.

LKY is a fervent believer in eugenics. He is convinced that the problems of this country are not due to the numerous policy failures of the PAP government. Instead he thinks that the biggest problem with Singapore is that most Singaporeans are descended from inferior genetic stock --- the coolies and hard labourers who came to Singapore from Southern China and India, or worse, the Malay natives whom LKY believes to be less evolved than other races. Singaporeans with good genes, ie. Peranakans like himself, are few and far between. While he could still fill his entire Cabinet with Peranakans, there are hardly enough of them to go around.

Being the visionary that he has always been, LKY undertook to improve Singapore's gene pool by implementing policies designed to reduce the population's inferior genetic stock. As you probably know, these policies didn't sit very well with the people and made Singapore a laughing stock of the world. So now LKY is using an alternative approach --- importing a large number of sperm and egg donors from China and Vietnam. You and I may feel that they are loud and uncouth but to LKY, their superior genes might just save Singapore by ensuring that the bottom-of-the-barrel genetic stock like us become extinct in another generation or two.

I take a more generous approach: help thy neighbours. Our prosperity is tied to their progress, & our GDP can afford it. Part of an overall package anyway: got ASEAN scholarships for A Levels (start from Sec 1, or Sec 3), undergrads & postgrads.

Living proof that Asians are high on investing in education *shrug*

Money isn't so much the problem -- bladdy hell, we spent million of dollars shooting fireworks every year, for what else but instant gratification -- as the screening/selection process. No bondbreaking issues here but, like with local scholars, it's hard to forecast traits like maturity/perseverance for the longer term. Many a brilliant student tend to aim for more prestigious study awards & universities too.

To most of the sour grape here: true blue Singaporeans have the best opportunities to success. Those who don't, have no talent or do not want to work hard. Instead of blaming foreigners, blame the locals who do not want to work hard.

Yeah, work hard and study hard, you guys will get better opportunities, dont any how blame on ppl, blame on yourself 1st.

Singaporeans need to open their minds first.

They have a Singaporean passport, which allows for visa-free access to more countries than most passports, however, they prefer to have fried rice in Malaysia.

Singaporeans see the PRCs and the Viets as uncouth maybe, but they barely look at themselves. Without all the laws that the government implements, where would Singapore be today? How would Singaporeans be like today? Had there not been strict governance, Singapore would still be the 3rd world backwater with an inferior stock.

Why do you think many Singaporean men are being wooed by PRC women? Just money and PR/Citizenship. And Singaporean men chase them because they are far better looking (evolution's way of determining superior genetics) than the local women. Why do you think many Singaporean women are dating foreigners? Because most of those foreigners dont know what a pretty asian girl looks like and/or Singaporean women find that Singaporean men are of inferior stock.

You know everything that i say is true.
