In all due fairness to whatshisface, one should consider that these prime ministers go on to many lucrative post-incumbency careers - Clinton, for one, gets paid a lot to hold talks. I wonder if there'll be a chance to see if people want to hear whatshisface's opinion (and not for his clout in the government) and pay dearly for it.

That's a supply and demand question. Ex-heads-of-state and political leaders of G8 nations like Clinton and Blair are really in demand --- people will happily pay big bucks to hear them speak. If they lost their jobs, they will have no trouble finding alternative employment advising big corporations and foundations or leading major international organizations.

No one outside Singapore gives a shit for Lee Hsien Loong. If not for his father, he will be driving a cab or selling insurance from door-to-door. He's worth at most a thousandth of what he's paid.
