Buck-up or lose Voltri deal, Merlo tells PSA-Sinport

John McLaughlin for Lloyd's List said:

GENOA’S new port president Luigi Merlo warned PSA-Sinport chief executive Eddie Teh at a meeting on Monday that the Singaporean company may lose the concession at the port’s flagship Voltri terminal if it did not take immediate steps to improve its performance.

We only pay Mr Raymond Lim, our Minister for Transport, a pittance of $2 million. All those superscale highflyers in the MOT make even less, some of these poor folks have to settle for as little as $15,000 a month. If we double their salaries, I'm sure the problem will just go away and PSA will instantly become a world-class company.

Ditto for Mr Wong Kan Seng and his team of elite superscale officers in MHA. If only we paid them enough, Mas Selamat would still be safely locked away in jail.

Except that Raymond Lim doesn't have anything to do with this.

$3 million, not $2 million.

Looks like many are hoping for Singapore these days to... bucker up.
Maybe Singapore can tell Lugi Merlo... We are better than Zulu.

of course you won't find this in the local papers..
