Shame on the Police

Mr Wang Says So said:

They were not having sex. They were not in the nude. They were not even waving flags or making public speeches. They were at the Singapore River because they wanted to go jogging. However, because they were gay, jogging suddenly became a crime.

Recommended by Anonymous Coward: "The police go all out to stop gay people from exercising. What a strange police force we have."

Bunch of bogus claims.

Having organized a walk-&-jog before, I know must apply for a police permit beforehand www.spf.gov.sg/licence/PP/PP_General.html (See link also for the specific law contravened.)

Lengthy licensing conditions too www.spf.gov.sg/licence/PP/Conditions/Walkathon_or_Jogathon.html

Impromptu or not, this run was clearly organized by People Like Us, as part of their IndigNation 2007 activities. Don't want to knock them further, so here's hoping they'll learn.

I don't see why those people are not allowed to do the run as a group. It's not as if they run around shouting "Gay sex is the best!" or "Let's all be gays!"....
