PM's son's army gaffe

Hung said:

2LT Lee Hong Yi, better known as PM Lee's son, had fired off an e-mail within the military network lambasting the "quality of leadership" in the SAF to the top brass, including the Minister of Defence and the Chief of Defence Force.

Trackback from Alvinology:

out of curiosity, I did an image search to look for a photo of Li Hongyi. And Voila! The picture above is what I found - taken from a RJC Prom Night photo album ...

i think we need to take a pinch of salt with this story, unless there is real evidence that it has happened.

with that said, if this is true then i'll add this, are we really surprised? all guys know the "elite" are treated differently in SAF contrary to what MINDEF tries to say.

daddy needs to spanky spanky!

Trackback from Oikono - There is the Army Way & the Right Way:

The army is the clearest distillation of this social contact. Its workings need not make sense. It need not be rational. It is right because it says it is right. ...

Trackback from Think Happiness: Mass Whistleblowing Military-Style :

The Second Lieutenant deserves every protection he can receive as a whistleblower. He should not be punished but he should be commended for what he has done...

what saddens me is the mindef public affairs comment of them no owing anybody a career. Take the example of drink driving compare to the AWOL. The earlier post a social irresponsibilities and threat to the public, and mind you...many offenders were senior saf officers, MAJs, LTCs, COLs...and these people continued to be serving in high positions and promoted and drawing high pay even after conviction by the civil court. Its a waste of tax payers money and disgrace, insult, mockery to the law abiding majority of good officers. So please tell COL Bernard to shut up unless he is prepared to come clean and discuss the issues with the public. Tell us...how many convicted senior officers are still drawing pay of $6000 to $10,000 over and continued to be holding office. I hate to say....he hiding lots of facts.
