Update on "Grand Seasons International"

We have engaged Dr Toh See Kiat of Goodwins Law Corporation to defend us against the allegations of Grand Seasons International Pte Ltd.

As many would know, Dr Toh is an IT lawyer and the ex-President of CASE who lobbied for the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act and amendments to the Pyramid Selling Act among many other achievements he has.

Dr Toh has responded to the legal letter from Grand Seasons International Pte Ltd on our behalf, denying the allegations. On his advice, our response is not reproduced here.

Furthermore, the title of this link has been taken down because of the lawyer's letter alleging it to be defamatory - until the courts decide on whether or not there are legal merits to the allegation.

Cool!

This news has just made my day.

Do keep us in the loop on this case.

Perhaps this was done in the best interests of tomorrow.sg, but isn't changing the title and content of the so-called "defamatory" post already a sign of submission? You just gave them exactly what they wanted.

Just noticed that the website for Grand Seasons International is up. I didn't notice it previously so it might have been a very new website. Maybe that is why the legal letter came only recently, just when the folks there became slightly more web-savvy.

I hardly think so, the comments representing facts and first hand encounters are hardly flattering.

Hope you have a good grand season to defend your lawsuit.
Also hope season over For GSI, time for GSI to fly kite

Dr Toh See Kiat would be the ideal person as he is one of the directors of Goodwins.

It looks like both Gurdip Singh and Jagjit Singh Gill left Goodwins to form Gurdip and Gill in August 2003.

From the web, it would also seem that they have previously represented ERI (another timeshare company) to attempt to settle "outstanding" payments from "buyers" who refused to pay back in 2004...

With the legal fees and all, would Tomorrow become subscription-only (ala' The Straits Times)?

goodness. the first for tmr huh. who's paying for the legal fees? =\ it sure is gonna add up to quite a sum..

Lets pray for a Good Win!

Veron: I think it's just temporary. Once the case is over, they will put back everything. :) Cheers!

that's great news. otherwises the minnows will always subscum to the sharks threat in the ocean.

This is a rather interesting topic to follow, i hope there will be an outcome soon =D would like to see how the timeshare peepz react to this case.

Personally i think there's nothing wrong for Grand Seasons to appoint a lawyer on their behalf if they find the title of that post defamatory. It's in their interest to get it removed so as not to cause any misconception on their part.

Nevertheless, maybe Grand Seasons should start to address those individuals who have felt cheated/scammed in their purchase of the timeshare membership. As i'm a timeshare owner too and have enjoyed numerous holidays with my purchase, i would support the idea of timeshare. Maybe there's some misinterpretation with regards to the salesperson, it's better to identify what went wrong before pointing fingers at the company of being a scam.

Just my 2cents worth.

I am currently facing the similar case as tomorrow.sg, does anyone know what is the outcome of this law suit case ?

er~ i'm still hanging with their 9k contract for about 6mths.
i have paid 1k as the first payment & followed by the $100 per mth..
anyone can help me?
