Barricaded New Year

Lilien said:

the real drama came after the fireworks ended. there were thousands of people crowded on the road facing the singapore river. so naturally nobody could see past the people they were surrounded by. imagine the dismay people felt when they discovered they couldn’t go beyond the strategically placed barricade that was right smack in the middle of the road, dividing the crowd into two camps. one who wanted to go back to the esplanade area, one who wanted to go towards the raffles place area.

Imagine having to spend five minutes deciphering what the hell the blogger is explaining in her bad english.

Next time just draw a picture in paintbrush to explain the situation.

bad english? its just ranting on and on. but otherwise understandable. you know her personally or what?

Her english is understandable. No extreme netspeak and it's in paragraphs. She's not writing for the newspaper. It's not perfect, but it's not bad.

haha. probably your english is much worst mr/ms. anoynomouse (whatever hack dat was - isnt it suppose to be "anonymouse" instead? haha.) you might need to go to british council to brush it up. don't comment on people bad english when you cant even managed it well yourself. if you had hard time reading it, dont read it. why torture yourself? Spare people on a new year probably you might get a better 2007, but I guess you will have to miss it all. HAHA!!

was stuck in the "bridge camp". my group was really pissed too. its like... everywhere is barricadded. i dont see the point of it at all..

Was it just me or did the fireworks suck last night? And why the hell did THEY - whoever the fuck they are - switch on the street lights just when the fireworks went off ?! It's like watching a movie with the lights on!

Trackback from Think Happiness: Plan The Year Ahead:

"Many of us make a string of resolutions and tend to forget about it days, weeks or months down the road. A lot of times why this happens is we put little thought into how we decide to go forward in the year. "...

Fireworks are always like that the lah... They willing to go there reserves the best seats in the house in the early morning and afternoon to catch the lighting up in the sky for just 5-10mins of the fireworks.

The same thing happened during the Firework festival in Singapore. People are just too engross on the Fireworks and lost their meaning in lives... sad. But the fireworks are just such a big deal as there is only occassional fireworks to catch in a year... no more than 5.

Pathetic.

Trackback from Cooler Insights: First Person's Account of Bangkok on NYE:

I was there in Bangkok on New Year's Eve, during the time when the bombings take place. Surprisingly, the REAL fireworks still went on and people were still cheering......

Well, using of explosive for entertainment = fun... using explosive for causing injuries and damages = diesasterous and threat. Why shouldn't the people cheer when it is made use to right way...
