Singaporean students to be re-valued monthly

The Kentang said:

Singaporean Students will now be ranked according to their monetary value each month, to reflect their potential value to Singapore’s community at large. This will begin at a negative value, since a Singaporean at the Primary One level has taken in resources to be educated while potentially achieving little.

However, once the Singaporean has been streamed and categorised, the monetary value can increase exponentially. EM1 students, primed to go to top secondary schools, junior colleges, and exotic educational programs, are usually valued between SGD4000 - SGD8000 a month, depending on academic performance.

WAIT. Before anyone takes this seriously, ask yourself when's the last time you heard somebody named "Vivobioluptous Hopkins Fan"; or the Ministry of Emulation, for that matter.

Duh.

the post has a disclaimer. it's light-hearted humor.

They are already doing that to teachers, ranking and promoting them based on potential that is decided at the beginning by a handful of people who could either kill or boost your career. Silliest way of managing manpower I have ever come across.

I think this is a very unhelpful way to judge or gauge people's output and contribution to the society and company they work in. As in if an engineer receives lesser income compared to a someone who had manager as a career, does that encourage the engineer to quit and get a job as a manager? Of course!

All jobs in fact does contributing to the society equally. Whether you are a CEO or a Nurse, a Teacher or a Salesman, an Admin or a Archetect... you are equally important. I totally don't think this "re-value" helps. An moreover, we human are the most precious asset you can ever find in Singapore, how can you put a price to something priceless?!
