this is SOOO stupid. i cant believe i just spent 5 minutes of my life reading shit comments like this.

but after the last 5 min, i think i ought to spend another 2 minutes just sharing my thoughts:

firstly, honestly, i think the blog owner has no right to limit whatever she makes public on the internet. because such content can still be accessed whether or not it is tomorrowed (because she previously made her blog public, not friends only), and i'm sure you people know there are such things as trackbacks and linking, which is perfectly ethical and legal in the internet sphere.

2. i think because we singaporeans have grown up with so so much emphasis on race and religion in our education system and everything, that we fly at every mention of race and religion and take offence at the author's qualification of the duo by their RACE. yes, she could have picked to qualify them by their age, what they were wearing and stuff like that, but i seriously think there is nothing wrong about mentioning their race. its how narrowminded people choose to think that it perpetuates stereotypes and everything that actually blew up this matter yes?

3. and i honestly thought this was an eyeopener to me, at least. so thanks, miss lynfunkstar, for showing me this part of singapore i have never had the misfortune to witness.

and to all the singaporeans out there: doing SOMETHING is better than doing NOTHING at all. there could have been more than 10 people witnessing the act and chose not to do anything which is OH SO COMMON in this country. at least she brought public awareness to this, ok?

ok thank you.

Yeah, so stupid. Thanks for opening my eyes to ignorant people who do not know glue-sniffing existed in Singapore.

Yeah, so stupid. Everyone who sniffs glue in the MRT has to be a Singaporean or is a product of our environment when there are tonnes of aliens here.

Yeah, so stupid, can't differentiate between doing something for the sake of society and having fun at the expense of others. Especially when it comes from drama queens who make XX look like a sqeaky clean angel.

Yeah, so stupid, can't tell if somebody is mocking you and even thank them for it.

Terimah kasih. You are an eye-opener.

Wait, are you a Singaporean?

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 3 January, 2007 - 10:33pm

But hello you'll never find a better mamak central than Malaysia.

And we all know how essential mamak culture is to the world, as are shoes to mankind.

Glue is everywhere. Everybody does drugs. Learn to deal. If you're big enough to do drugs in public, you're big enough to get in trouble about it. If any action is taken towards the two girls, they had it coming. Nobody cares how shameful it is for them to be exposed on the internet. Besides, everybody knows the only way to get noticed on the internet is to either flash your nads as you're getting out of a car or adopt African/Asian children.

So why don't we all stfu. We're all idiots and we all suck ok, EQUALLY. End of story.

Posted by Michelle* on 29 December, 2006 - 1:08am

You speaking on behalf of yourself and/or Malaysians?

Whoever put up an idiotic post will have to deal with the repercussion that comes with it too.

End of story.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 29 December, 2006 - 3:23am

So why exactly is it considered idiotic? No seriously I'm not trying to look for trouble, I actually want to know. The fact that she called on them by their race, or because she posted a picture of them or is there some other underlying reason I'm not aware of?

Posted by Michelle* on 29 December, 2006 - 8:35pm

And if you still dun understand, you just as idiotic.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 3 January, 2007 - 8:16pm

The fact that she sneered at Singapore and expected nothing to happen. It isn't an innocent post for sure. You do that to Malaysia, you will get the same response I am sure.

She's also having a good time at the expense of two strangers who had done her no wrong and expects, again, to be clear of mud.

That is as idiotic as it gets.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 3 January, 2007 - 8:15pm

Goddammit something swallowed up my first line, and now everything makes no sense at all. Insert this at the beginning of the comment:

Singapore has nice shoes.
(But hello you'll never blablabla you know the deal)

kthxbaiiiii.

Posted by Michelle* on 29 December, 2006 - 1:12am

Hey, those two look like kampong girls from Malaysia. That could be why they didn't know glue sniffing is illegal in Singapore. Or maybe they got chased by their Malaysian blue poodles, so taking cover and sleeping in our MRT.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. When will those kampong people learn.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 7:00am

Lynfunkstar, loves to blog about the happenings around her while she lives her life and travels. Out of the many times she went in and out of Singapore (and writes nice stuff and pics on the country); this particular one bright sunny day, she randomly saw two malay girls sniffing in public.

And so, she blogged it down.

Later on, this dude decided to link it here. Many were matuered enough to take it but others took it offensively, defensively.. for what? trying to safe face? why? because she burst your bubble? your ego? because she is Malaysian? and then attack her like how a group of 5 year old boys would do to a little girl in the park.

This glue thing, happens around the whole world. Drugs exist at every part of the world. Report it to the authorities and they'll still ask for race.

So Lynfunkstar was pissed-off (and I dont blame her for that) and blogged in her journal on her defense.

And Malaysians (in majority MAY BE her friends), were pretty upset with the comments here. But some were better off silent rather than posting emotionally like "hate Singaporeans" (so does that include lynfunkstar now?) and using the over rated "Kiasu" term thats apparently growing in Malaysia and as lame as "singaporeans suck no ifs or buts about it"-- Childish!! (cause I expected better answers/arguments).

So the blaming now goes on to- who is (more) RUDE and nice?

Wayne Dyer said:

All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won't succeed in changing whatever it is about you that is making you unhappy.

It's pretty obvious that both parties are RUDE already. Why don't we all now be nice and call it a truce?

Oh please, as if Malaysians will keep/ have kept quiet when someone writes/wrote about the ugly side of Malaysia.

Just a bunch of green-eyed losers from City Laut.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 6:31am

singaporeans suck no ifs or buts about it.

You got a problem with that? I see you are highly disturbed when it is actually none of your business.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 6:25am

and I would be a lot more polite not rude if people didn't simply copy my blog links and then condemn me about it.

do not even start by saying I am rude when I found all this comments banging me in the first place. am I still supposed to be polite and noble after all this hate comments, email and spam on my livejournal?

i think not.

Posted by Lynfunkstar* on 27 December, 2006 - 4:44pm

And we'd behave like angels if not for that idiotic post of yours that started it all.

Really.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 7:14am

at least have a name, you stupid ass. so fucking what if my post was 'idiotic' it was not written to humour your stupid ass

Posted by Lynfunkstar* on 29 December, 2006 - 4:09am

Well done tomorrow editors, these two girls may end up in jail or reform school thanks to your publicising. You are now the greatest moral guardians Singapore has ever seen. We are so indebted to your moral righteousness.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 27 December, 2006 - 11:44am

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 7:06am

Woohoo, the one who started it all is getting a little touchy.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Sensitive leh.

If you are so brave, put the picture back on your blog lah. Let those girls look for you and settle it lor.

Want to stab your neighbour on the back but scared of trouble. Cheh!

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 7:04am

It IS still on my blog, except you unknown losers cant READ it :)

So don't judge anyone about being BRAVE and WHATNOTS when you DONT EVEN HAVE A NAME :)

Posted by Lynfunkstar* on 29 December, 2006 - 4:12am

Oh wow, who's judging others for being cowardly? The one who whined about life and wanted to slit her wrists.

Talk about drama queens.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 29 December, 2006 - 6:38am

i've removed the link to the post.

i suspect people would be a lot nicer to you if you were actually polite not rude.

omg i didn't know singaporeans were so sensitive. i mean kiasu yes, but sensitive too? what a package!

Posted by Anonymous Coward - you got that right!* on 26 December, 2006 - 10:12pm

There are worse packages elsewhere in the world, even around the region. Like nosey green-eyed monsters who criticize Singaporeans just to feel good about themselves.

Posted by Anonymous Coward - you got that wrong* on 26 December, 2006 - 10:29pm

In response to Anonymous Coward's really shallow comment...
"No one cares about what happens to you" - exactly. probably no one cares about you or what happens to you.. which led you to conjure up something that would bring total attention right to your doorstep. So who are you, again?? Challenging people and mocking those who owns public journals..

Seriously. People like you should just stop at collecting stamps and sewing cushion covers. Don't be a sucker for attention. It sucks. Just like you do.

people like you should drop dead and die.

People like you should hibernate in your cave.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 7:52am

people like you should get your balls sheared off while on a rollercoaster, or soemthing.

because you reply like a bitch.

Posted by monkeh* on 31 December, 2006 - 2:10am

Didn't know those across the causeway like to speak dirty language. Eye opener.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 3 January, 2007 - 8:19pm

first of all, you people took things from HER journal WITHOUT PERMISSION and comment about it, calling her a RACIST just because she used the word 'Malay' and now you're being rude again by calling her fat, ugly, dumb, stupid and bitch??

what the hell, who do you people think you are anyway?

you people have no right to accuse of things. you have no right to publish the things she writes in her blog without her permission.

so whatever it is that you want to discuss about here (be it 'I want a clean and healthy Singapore' or whatever) please do not get personal and accuse people of things without seeing the big picture.

And if you want to talk about being racist, stop saying things like Malaysians are more likely to sniff glue and cow dung than Singaporeans.

Posted by Foxymardy* on 25 December, 2006 - 6:04pm

Oh, she asked for permission to put that picture up?

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 7:52am

AND how would you know if I did?

Posted by Lynfunkstar* on 29 December, 2006 - 4:13am

Stupid question. Sure, glue sniffers would advertise themselves. And if you had, you wouldn't have cowardly retracted the photo from public domain! And demanded that Tomorrow.sg deleted this post too!

That about answers the rest of your questions. Gosh, I shouldn't even bother.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 29 December, 2006 - 6:35am

TO THE MODS OF THIS COMMUNITY:

I want this post removed! It was copied from my journal without any permission whatsoever, and now I am getting hate comments AND emails from this 'forum''s members banging me and mocking me without cause.

I did not deserve this kind of petty treatment.

Posted by The Author of that Journal* on 25 December, 2006 - 6:04pm

And those girls deserve to be shamed in the world wide web by jerk like you?

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 7:51am

Silly people.

Posted by Michelle* on 26 December, 2006 - 10:00pm

Hey, you don't have to be so damn rude! That's so unnecessary. You don't even know her personally to lay down such judgement.

Posted by Niena* on 25 December, 2006 - 5:49pm

As if she knows the two girls so well she put their picture on the Internet.

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 28 December, 2006 - 7:09am

dont act so self-righteous my friend. why dont you go blast our singaporeans that are operating blogs like parking idiots and posting pictures up of rude singaporeans?

they know the cars so well that they can put up pictures of them ah?

Posted by monkeh* on 31 December, 2006 - 2:11am

There sure are lots of monkeys in addition to annoying mice over there! Look who's self-righteous.

Maybe she is one of those who have a already tried the direct approach but gave up. Just the other day, I was in the MRT, sitting across a foreign Tai-Tai and her two kids and two old lady companions. The older kid was eating sausages from a plastic bag, the toddler was playing with a lollipop with her mouth, hands and occasionally flinging bits of sweets and saliva around, and she drank from a bottle.

Anyway, I watched them for the entire journey and they were oblivious to the attention from the rest of us. Some eyes staring, heads shaking etc. as a signal that food and drinks are not allowed in the train.

Thoughts ran through my mind, "Ah, never mind, don't be petty...They are foreigners, give some slack...Other people here don't seem to mind..."

But images of cockroaches, trash covered floors and sticky seats woke me up and I finally decided to tell her nicely.

"Excuse me." Softly and gently.

She ignored.

"Excuse me." Louder, but still friendly.

She looked up.

"In case you do not know, food and drinks are not allowed in the train."

"WHAT!" she shouted with eyes shooting darts from an irritated face. Then she realized there was others staring at her.

I was shocked but managed to repeat, "Food and drinks are not allowed here, in case you do not know," pointing at the no eating signs on the walls.

She didn't even bother to look at those signs but instead scrutinised me from head to toe, and finally mumbled a reluctant, "OK." and continued chatting with her companions.

She did nothing.

I gave up and alighted at my destination wondering if it had been worth the while to speak up.

And this wasn't the first time I did. And every time, it was useless. Once, a middle-aged local even tried to throw a piece of dirty tissue at me because I watched him cleaning the seat with it and stuffing the dirty tissue into a corner.

But I guess I'll keep on trying. We do want a clean and green Singapore, don't we?

Posted by Anonymous Coward* on 23 December, 2006 - 4:24pm

I think that is due to the straying away from flexibility to comfortability then to unconcientiously... I suppose that is because little allowance of Singaporeans actually was taken as ignore it totally to foreigners. That's why... ...
