The Story of Slimderella: a cautionary tale about the slimming industry

Slimderella said:

This is a tongue-in-cheek comic strip about an average girl named Slimderella, who, under the suggestion of her Flabby Godmother, embarks on a quest to become thin by signing up with a local slimming centre. Along the way, she bumps into CASE, learns a thing or two about how the industry operates, and eventually gets her happy ending.

Recommended by Anonymous Coward: "My friend and I did this project for a class, and are hoping to increase awareness about local slimming centre practices through this comic, so that at the very least people go in with their eyes open."

So many people have come up to me to ask me to lose weight and I will look so much better on screen...I don’t jiggle when I walk and I can see my toes when I stand. The fact is, if I want a career advancement......

hey, thanks for publishing the entry! it really helps get the issue out there, which is the most important part of the project. and thanks for the positive comments too. :)

Why not work with the schools. Many teenage girls I came across are very conscious their weight and gullible too.

Very good comic, with a nice message and nice flow of plot.

Currently back in Singapore for a working trip after a few years, and i'm shocked at the large display of slimming products from "well-known" companies in USA/Europe.

Never even heard about the ones that came from USA.

I used to doubt slimming pills n products..but when my weight has previously hit the peak of 68kg, i took Xando and it works! And now, im reduced to 52 kg which amazed many..so I stand by Xand as it reallly helps me :)
