Leaving the final event that closed this year’s IndigNation, Singapore’s annual Gay Pride event, I overheard someone saying, “Wow, that was cool. Five years ago, hearing someone say f*** in theatre seemed like a big deal”....

Trackback from IndigNation Pride Season : Singapore:

It moved because the line up of speakers took us to issues that had engaged “we the citizens” for so long: the subtle class and race divides in our schools, the loneliness of growing up gay in Singapore, etc...

"It's a good thing that Singaporeans, no matter who you are, can come together and show that everyone really matters.Who cares if you are a common cock, as long as you can crow. ....

Ruby Pan you're a star, please get in touch I need people like you to write scripts for MTV & Megalamediocrecorp (forty years of television and we still can't get it right) please help, your country needs you.

It was an amazing event & surprisingly entertaining for non Singaporeans (ang moh ah beng can also understand). Also made me think about what the responsibilities of foreigners are here beyond hiring maids and paying their tax. It should have been televised in my opinion.

Without stuff like this, Singapore's just a dull waiting room with an airport. Thanks!
