That aside, I've had really bad experiences with PRC tenants. I have vowed NEVER to rent out a room to someone from Mainland China. They give no end of problems (one stole jewellery and left in the middle of the night). They are stingy, calculative and demanding. In general. Perhaps the China Chinese need to rethink the way they behave outside their own country.

Maybe these fellas posting anti-Chinese tirades on this blogs and elsewhere in Cyberspace are not ethnic Chinese after all, or at the most mixed-blooded part Chinese. Our parents and grandparents are all from mainland China, discriminating against our brothers and sisters from the mainland is tantamount to spitting at ourselves. I'm a Chinese in Indonesia, a country where our compatriots faced linguistic and cultural even physical (racial) genocide for over three decades due to the so-called assimilation policy of the New Order Regime backed by the West, notably the United States and Britain. Many young generation Chinese in this country have been suffering from an identity crisis due to the official racism sanctioned and enforced by the Indonesian state. Things are changing now as Chinese identity, language and culture are reviving in Indonesia. It is understandable in Indonesia's case, preserving our language and culture was a matter of life and death, but not Singapore which is firmly within the Sinosphere which we all hope will expand (Greater China).

The vast majority of overseas Chinese including in Singapore and Chinese on the mainland share a very strong bond and sense of camarderie. We are all one family, and it is natural and normal for a family to have its differences, let us resolve them among ourselves such as concerning the PRC, ROC, Singapore and the ethnic Chinese communities throughout the world. Let us work together towards reunification. Generally Singaporeans think they have something to teach or show the world...I am speaking about Chinese Singaporeans who so happen to be one of the most arrogant and in many cases stupid individuals among the Chinese living in the area (Indonesia, Malaysia, etc).
In many ways believing that their concept of modernism (infrastructure, shopping malls and buildings) puts them one notch above others...what they seem to have forgotten or does not enter into their insular brains is that socially they are worse than wild dogs..where the basic fundamentals of respect for others is non-existent.

No respect in the service sector..they have no sense of carrying-out a job and detaching their personal wants or problems from the service (only seem to be happy when they screw others or foreigners..foreigners which happen to be in Singapore because they are needed by Singapore much more than the reverse being true). A great part cannot even speak proper english let alone other languages. Out of the job they occupy themselves with spending days looking at prices in shop windows with a sort of sexual lusting for it...in a quasi manic manner. They will hog escalators, bump into you to get through without even uttering a single 'excuse me'. They don't even have the decency, let alone the basic 'primate' intelligence to understand that they should let passengers alight from subways before trying to board as this only makes things more frustrating and takes more time!

So why complain about Chinese from China? You are even worse because given all your great and mighty talk about how much you have achieved on this 'sand dune' of a country in reality you have achieved nothing...and the rest of the world rarely dedicates any pages, or airtime, or any basic attention to what you do because greatness is rated with time...in thousands of years..through history...through civilizations..through culture...NOT through a shelf-life of a few decades and some pathetic ferris wheel which is just like trying to compare your penis with somebody elses because you have nothing else to compare.

I think we need to emphasise the point that regardless of nationality, we will find both the elites and the poverty strickened. China is an extremely giantic country with vastly unoccupied lands probably rich with natural resources. The richer states in China have surpassed many of those which used to look down on them. Singapore on the other hand is blessed to have dedicated and capable pioneers who are able to raise the entire country from a slum like condition into a country with an excellent economical landscape. Singapore stands out in the region against the other countries as the wealthiest and safest.

I have met native Chinese nationals of different breed. The exceptionally well educated gentlemen from Shanghai of extraordinary intellegence and knowledge who speaks fluent German and acceptable English and those PRC who cannot even converse in simple English over the sales counter. I must admit, those Chinese natives of the upper middle class are indeed different regardless meeting them in Singapore or in Europe where I go for business occasionally. Like Singaporeans, spitting or talking loudly is something they will not feel comfortable with.

We Singaporeans on the other hand even though come from a much superior economical and educational background in the region should not despise the others. Who are we to judge them? The only difference between us Singaporeans and the poorly behaved PRC is that we have an advantageous leverage to start with. And that is thanks to our pioneers. If our pioneers have been corrupted like the previous Philippines president and the Malaysian BN, we will not be here to feel qualified making nasty comments about the weaker group. And with this it make us look like tyrants.

We Singaporeans have excellent living conditions. Superior educational programmes. Wealthy economical landscape. We speak English better than Mandarin due to our educational background and the daily working conditions which should not be a factor to call us 'bananas' or 'oreos'. But there are still Singaporeans who go online to post discriminating remarks against another race of equal status as humans...

Let's get over it. Recognise that there're good and bad sheeps everywhere. When you've yet to meet the good ones, doesn't mean there aren't.

Lastly, I always strongly believe that I never will need to use insults or violence to get my message across.

Dear PRC friends, nevermind about those who speak foul or hurl profanities at you. I strongly believe our society is based on merit. If you truely are capable and able to contribute to better our lives, you're most welcomed to make this place your home. But do not expect to take this place a free loading land. I have seen many PRC who were given ultimatum to leave Singapore when they do not live to our standards. And I will not hesitate to back the authorities decision to jettison our land of trouble-makers.

I don't think what you look is the whole image of China; maybe there is something true in it. As I think the Chinese people are nice, modest and kind-hearted, some of who may talk loudly in public, but it really no big deal, only if it not a quiet place. As a matter of fact, I love this country and eager to learn more about it.

This could be a serious case and yes, it really did create chaos with the Chinese. If it's the Singaporeans opinion; then there's freedom to express it. Though people must always take caution on every word they post and every opinion they want to express. It creates confusion and misunderstandings too.

说到底，就一帮子无聊的损一帮子无聊的，其实无论哪国人都有自己喜欢或不喜欢的。就说中国人，9成的觉得新加坡是‘那样’�堪，但还是1成的觉得勉强还行。而那些觉得新加坡不堪的，8成觉得中国有‘很多需要改进的’。

My inconsiderate neighbours who speak with a mainland Chinese accent have been playing mahjong for the past few nights into the wee hours of the morning. Do they need to yell and shout and talk loudly to each other when they are sitting at the same table? Maybe the sound of mahjong has damaged their hearing. I have given up asking them to pipe down past midnight. They also hang their clothes on a rack placed permanently along the walkway...and that bicycle too...not to mention cigarette smoke and loud music.
