Umm...I think the matter at hand should be less about what he looks like or what he is (not) wearing, and more about what he does for our country, innit?

Should we blame him for carrying out his job as an chief executioner? I think not, no more than we should blame the ordinary U.S. soldier for illegally invading Iraq under false pretences of searching for WMDs. It is the system, or rather the man responsible behind the system, that should be held accountable.

If I am offered the job, as his replacement, I would probably walk out of the place immediately.

I am wondering. If really NO ONE takes over his job, are all the convicts on the death row going to be like delayed being hanged, or just ambolish hanging in Singapore altogether (which is highly unlikely to happen).

I really cannot imagine me killing people everyday (though it is set by the law). I admire his courage and appreciate his "service" to the nation all these years.

Here's an idea: why don't we ask those government ministers who support capital punishment to rotate among themselves the position of executioner? It should be a walk in the park for them since they feel that capital punishment is justified.

In my opinion, I would accept caning. I wouldn't accept hanging.

Caning gives punishment, yet a second chance is also given.

Hanging gives punishment, but I'll see you with some cow and horse faced creatures.
