Singapore Food Review

The Skinny Epicurean reviews a variety of food places in Singapore, including Canele:

J and I went back to Canele yesterday to try the other tempting desserts. Luckily, this time around, my choice of Royale was a delicious one! All the layers (chocolate mousse 66%, hazelnut feuilletine, almond success, chocolate genoise with rum), put together, created this surprisingly light dessert that was easy to down and went well with my jasmine tea. Thehazelnut feuilletine, though lacking in the nutty flavour, added a welcomed crunch to every bite. The cake was not overwhelmingly sweet and I personally liked it that way.

I went to big spash last week, really good place to move around there.new restaurants and good food.we had our dinner at Indian Times(Kinara). They offer grilling kebabs at table on charcoal grill.we really enjoyed it as my son was having a real fun.and buffet spread is really wide and the waiters ask for your choice of bread. as the palce was busy on weekends, do go their. but make prior booking on week ends.

A Die Die Must Try Restaurant - Restaurant Nusantara at 1 Liang Seah Street, #01-0/04, Singapore 189022

I went to this well-decorated Indonesian restaurant located near Bugis MRT and City Hall. It is one of the most interesting restaurants around. I found out that it is a brand new restaurant owned by a successful and prominent Indonesian tycoon. He started the restaurant after accidentally finding out the culinary skills of his wife. Well the food is superb.

The restaurant serve many dishes special dishes from Sumatra, Jakarta, Sunda, Bali etc. I had never heard the names stated in the menu even though I have frequented many Indonesian restaurants before such as Pariaman and Maimunah restaurants. This restaurant's menu is offering dishes in a class of its own.
I asked the manager for some dishes not in the menu. I am delighted that he willingly ask his cook to prepare the food for me.

The Luwak Coffee is also great.

The ambience is also good as it provides a homely Indonesian feel with Indonesian arts and crafts found at every nook and corner of the restaurant.

On the way out, there are Indonesian trinkets if you would like to buy.

For those who would like to try the restaurant is located at 1 Liang Seah St. #01-03/04, Singapore 189022. See http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel/travel/travel_id_5081/travel_site_13923/
