Where not to eat in Singapore: Cafe Cartel

Tym said:

I realise that many of the Singaporean blogs I read wax lyrical about food, as do I from time to time, so I thought it was time for a new series on where not to eat: places with bad food, unforgivable prices, exercrable service, hopeless ambience, or a combination of all these. Then I procrastinated.Congratulations, Cafe Cartel. You made my dinner experience last night so wretched that it jolted me out of my limbo and into writing this inaugural entry in the series.

This diner is armed with a blog and she is trained to use it — so give her a bad dinner experience and she WILL blog it.

Ahh.... What a release. Seeing the crowds at cafe cartel outlets, I nearly thot I am the only one that do not enjoy the meal there.

Trackback from Singapore Restaurant:

The Café Cartel is a restaurant-chain serving American cuisine, particularly from the New York region. They serve up a spread with everything from pastas to pizzas to sandwiches, snacks, and hearty mains....

Hmm... Oh, Cafe Cartel, I am very sure that it is not a minority of the customers who visited the resturant doesn't really enjoy their experiences as much as they should (cost[input]=satisfaction[output]).

Well, their services aren't and never any better. Food portion may be reasonable, the price is averaged. But the service is soo "commentible", the negative way. Even though I worked in F&B resturants before too, and it is a "mutual disliking" experience. But I remember that I do put in effort to provide customers' satisfaction and service, which I don't see it in Cafe Cartel way of managing.

Room for improvements is huge, and never too late! =D

But i think the one at marina square is not bad. I went to dine with my parents over the weekend and now due to the addition of the service charge, they'll do everything for us. My dad wanted to get some chilli sauce and when one of the staff spotted my dad getting up from his seat, he immediately came over and provided assistance. My dad wasn't used to the 'no-longer-diy' system so he got up quite a few times, and each time, my dad came back and said the staff told him he would get whatever he needed for him and told my dad he could go back and continue his meal.

But i don't deny that there's definitely some more areas they can improve on.
