Straits Times does Tomorrow

It's out, the Straits Times article on Tomorrow.sg (Home, H4), complete with typos you cannot correct and an ugly photo you cannot replace.

And yes, it's true, Agagooga writes about 'current affairs' and Mr Miyagi has an 'online diary'.

Meatspace terms for an online world, folks! Here's a picture of the little bit of the tree that was felled.

[Mr Miyagi: Tech Guru says that as at today, daily hits are around 35K]
[Mr Miyagi: ST reporter SMSd to say sorry for typo (it was not her fault).]

Trackback from Straits Times wants to feature Tomorrow.:

Yesterday, Tomorrow.sg's press room fielded a couple of emails and several phone calls from The Straits Times...

Trackback from Update on Straits Times article:

She also said her editor asked her for a more detailed profile of Tomorrow's editors, such as our occupations....

Trackback from mr brown:

I liked the whole underground, arty-farty and edgy location chosen for the shoot....

Hear hear!

Great job guys, and once again, thank you for Tomorrow!

I like the whole tomorrow.sg press room thing. Makes you guys sound really pro! Move aside Today online, here comes Tomorrow!

Shucks I forgot mrbrown works at Today.

Ok, I was just too eager to leave a comment. Damn

How come James not in pic?

Shucks ... Calm one never show face ... otherwise all his girl fans will go into frenzy and foam in the mouth should they see him in picture ...

i come to this site after i saw the article

weather the site will last it will be a problem..

PS: Keep up the good work..

Blame me for wanting more, but despite all the hoo-ha about tomorrow.sg being featured on Straits Times, it becomes sort of anti-climatic when the write up comes up to a small 9" by 5" article, and when the photo takes up more than half the article itself. Sadly, it becomes more like a cursory mention, like "oh, by the way, there's this upstart called tomorrow.sg that just got set up" without much depth put into it. Sad? Maybe. Even worse, the article does seem to satisfy the most of us at Tomorrow.

Here's the breakdown:

1) Small mention under "Home" on a Monday, instead of Sunday's special tech column at the end of the main Sunday Times, or Wednesday's Computer Times, and no mention at all in the front page.

2) Looking at the photo, the unititated would immediately assume that bloggers are predominantly male. Now, people who do not read blogs (PWDNRB, pronounced pawned-nerb) will get the impression that blogs are written by guys only. Of cause, Gabriel could pass as a girl with his hair, but noooo.... they had to go and put his name up. Darn.

Trackback from Shelly Lives:

If Straits Times can screw up, my blog also can screw up. Heh. Next time can just anyhow type and then don't check spelling...

alamak mr miyagi's url is wrong lol. he must have gotten no extra hits after this story was published lol :P

Hope this will inform Singaporeans out there that blogs make for worthy reading!

Trackback from a life uncommon:

Yes, if you haven’t already seen or realised, that’s me on Page 4 (Home) of today’s ST. And no, I did not ask to be featured, nor did I probably deserve to be....

dont sell ur souls to the devils.!

remember that ST is govt controlled . the interview is mainly to check on ur backgrd and get more details on u.

sooner or later this will bite u in ur ass.

You think the typo is a mistake? think again.

1st of all you have to find this DVD online call THE Corporation

Then you will understand what is gov controlled & the corporation world..

The ST is under SPH & MediaCorp and is all link up to IDA & the gov at the end..

Tout juste lancé et déjà à la une, bravo, James. Ce journal est écrit par dix blogueurs de Singapour très influents, d'où son succès immédiat....
